The elves are busy preparing for Santa’s arrival. The workshop at the North Pole is busy with merriment, toy making, and hot chocolate breaks. There is a special place where elves are busy getting ready to bring Santa’s Christmas Cottage to Folsom.
Snowflake and friends are preparing for writing letters to Santa, story time, card making and crafts. Folsom’s amazing history will come alive with a special reading of “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.”
Santa will arrive on Friday, December 5th for Folsom’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting. He is so excited to visit Folsom and greet you all in Santa’s Christmas Cottage. Santa will be bringing some of his favorite friends with him and of course Mrs. Claus will be there with handfuls of candy canes.
Snowflake loved her time so much at the Santa’s Christmas Cottage that she asked Santa if she could spend even more time with the children and their families. Santa responded with a “Ho Ho Ho” and a resounding “YES!” Letters written to Santa will be mailed at the new post office that the elves are not so secretly building. Sleighbell Steve was so excited he told Snowflake and she told other elves. The first day for letter writing is November 28th.
On the evening of December 17th, there will be a special reading of “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas,” bringing songs and incredibly special look into the history of Folsom. Santa and all the elves are thrilled to welcome Sutter Street Theatre to Santa’s Christmas Cottage to perform and the reading of this annual favorite We ask that folks bring a comfortable item to sit upon to better enjoy the evening.
How it got started
Santa’s Christmas Cottage is a vision born of the spirit of all things magical viewed through the child’s heart in all of us, with Santa as our inspiration.
Santa’s Christmas Cottage is a magical cottage nestled in the hearts of those that believe, and invites the believers and those who may have put their child’s heart of believing away, to come and be a part of all things good that Santa wraps in the gift of belief that manifists as a toy, an incouraging word, or a moment that defines Christmas magic.
This Cottage is more than the walls and elements within those walls. It is a sacred place for believing in family, believing in priceless moments caught in a photograph, serving the community through a higher calling, and the belief of those who love all things magical at Christmas.
We, the hands, heart, minds, and believers of magic, declare this humble Cottage as a place for Santa and the spirit of his good works to serve the greater good. In that declaration, we promise to protect this Cottage and continue to give it the love and respect it deserves
